The idea to design a soloist style guitar started from a simple vision: to develop a perfect baritone guitar that feels just like a normal scaled guitar and yet offers the complete range, from the lowest frets to the highest notes. You might have noticed that it is almost impossible to find an electric baritone guitar that feels good and "close" to play. Usually, the lowest chords and notes feel too far-off to play, because the guitar just doesn’t fit quite well enough into your hands, especially when there are seven or eight strings to “fiddle with”. Well, that’s history now! We noticed this problem and therefore felt the need to design a guitar model that not only lies great in your hands but is also equipped with all those low notes and special tunings that have entered and conquered extreme styles of music. And that’s not all! We also wanted to offer some boost for tapping style players, so we broadened the possibilities on the fingerboard from 24 to 30 frets.
Clarity and the attack of each note are really important essentials for us when designing guitars for fast and extreme music played in low tunes. With this model we follow the same standards which we have set up for all of our guitars! Only the best is good enough!
The KAIRA model is available in three basic versions: H (hipshot hardtail), F (Original Floyd Rose) and K (Kahler tremolo). Each version is available with 6 or 7 strings. Eight-stringed guitars are only available with Hipshot bridges or Kahler tremolos. You can order your guitar with a normal 25,5” scale or with a baritone 27”-30” scale. Since we want to offer this guitar to all kinds of players, it is available both in bolt-on or neck-through constructions.
 The bolt-on model offers a perfect solution for those who are looking for a modern soloist style guitar with a bolt-on construction. This version has a five-screw neck-joint which maintains easy access to the highest frets and gives ultimate playability to the lowest frets, also in baritone version!
 The neck-through model features the best combination of great playability and sustain. We have balanced the design so that it enables the complete use of the whole fingerboard area, from the first fret to the highest notes. It keeps its super fast playability also in the baritone version and with 7 or even 8 strings! This version is also perfect for extreme tappers. You can get 6 extra frets for tapping style playing and bring your music to the next level.

The new 8-string Kaira-series guitar is truly a magnificent cross between
versatility and playability.
Having 8 strings means much more than just the possibility of having extra
low notes available: You could always tune a 6 or 7 string guitar as low as
you like! With the 8-string, the low notes have the definition as you would
expect without sacrificing the high chime you get with standard tuning. And
who says you should tune an 8-string in "standard-tuning"? Mine is from A to
G, so it goes higher than a 6-string, and still goes lower than a 7-string!
 But the most exciting aspect of an 8-string guitar is the added horizontal
dimension to the fretboard! That's two extra strings of polyphony and adds
almost one full octave to a single fretting position!
For the modern "shredding" -type player, all your existing soloing chops expand to new
territories!
And as for the contemporary solo-guitar playing techniques, one can really
appreciate the range of available notes! Anything from huge lush open chords
to slapping, plucking, strumming, finger-picking, to the various two-handed
approaches from players ranging from Stanley Jordan to Carlos Vamos is all
there to be explored. To me, the 8-string is MUCH MUCH more than just a
metal-guitar: It's truly a multi-purpose instrument with huge potential!
